Tollywood’s most prominent hero Ghattamaneni Mahesh Babu is an actor, producer and a philanthropist. He was born on 9 August 1975 to the veteran Telugu actor Krishna. Mahesh Babu made his first debut as a child at the age of 4, in the movie Needa (1979). His first film as a lead actor was Rajakumarudu (1999), which won Nandi award for Best Male Debut in the Tollywood industry. Mahesh babu received his big break through the movie Murari, which was released in the year 2001. He then went on acting in more than 25 Telugu movies and gained an amazing fan base and a huge stardom in the Tollywood film industry. Mahesh Babu is referred to as Prince of Tollywood by his fans and the media. In addition to being an actor, Mahesh Babu is known to be very humble. He owns a charitable trust and a nonprofit organization called Heal-a-Child and is associated with Rainbow Hospitals as their goodwill ambassador. Mahesh Babu recently entered into the film exhibition business by opening a seven screen superplex named AMB Cinemas in Gachibowli, associated with Asian group. He married Namrata Shirodkar who is Femina Miss India 1993 in the year 2005. They gave birth to two children, a boy and a girl, Gautham Krishna who was born in 2006 and Sitara in 2012. Unlike other Tollywood heroes, Mahesh Babu is known to give 30% of his annual income to charities. He announced in 2015 that he would adopt a village named Burripalem, a minor panchayat in Tenali. Mahesh Babu was ranked first in Times’ 50 Most Desirable Men in India. He takes his share of blame and owns up to his mistakes when his movie doesn’t reach it’s expectations, which most actors don’t do, and which is why Mahesh Babu is considered a real life hero among all the other Tollywood actors.
