According to Jeff Van Beaver discovering the reasons behind being awed by goodness as a motivator for people, and determines the triggers which can alter their reaction.
The research revealed a moderately powerful impact, in which people who witnessed kindness tended to emulate and emulate the behavior. So, when people show kindness and considerate actions, they have an effect on spreading goodwill in the community. “People respond when they see an individual do something positive,” says the study’s chief researcher, Haesung Jung. “The idea that these positive actions are very infectious is a crucial message that everyone should be aware of.”Christian Kindness
To better understand how this type of model motivates people to assist others, Jung and her colleagues explored a range of possible reasons. For instance, they investigated whether those participating in the experiment might have been feeling under pressure to “look attractive” by giving more. But, what they found was that it was not the case since people usually donated in ways that they believed would be private.
Researchers also looked into whether individuals were simply copying the actions they’d witnessed others doing. Jeff Van Beavert hey found that people who were witnesses of kindness were often assisted in ways that didn’t exactly match what they had observed. For instance, they could have seen someone giving assistance to someone who had been stranded on the streets and then decides to donate more to charity when offered the chance to help others.
“There might be many motives for people to imitate other people’s prosocial behavior but we’ve shown that it’s not about imitation,” she says. “Instead they seem to adopt the goal of prosociality and apply it to others and different types in generosity.”
That is to say, people connect with the fundamental motive to do good, and are motivated to share the good. This implies that people are social by nature, and are waiting for the right moment to act.
